Deborah Kim

 

Deborah received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern California School of Music and her Masters of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music. Before USC, Deborah studied for eight years under Alice Schoenfeld followed by studies under Eudice Shapiro, Paul Kantor, and Robert Koff. Deborah performs as a soloist, most recently at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and as a chamber musician, where she is a member of the Eureka Trio. She has participated in collaborative works in a variety of venues with various chamber groups under the direction of John Perry, Gabor Retjo, Eugene Lehner, and Daniel Pinkham. She has attended the Aspen Music Festival studying under Juilliard legend Dorothy Delay and was invited to attend the Assisi Music Festival in Italy coached by the Melos Quartet. Deborah has directed a youth music school for 8 years and has been teaching privately for over 20 years where her students have been accepted to top music schools. Deborah has been on the panel of judges for American String Teachers Association, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, Junior Chamber Music among others and she is a member of ASCAP, MTAC, ASTA, VSA, and RMA.
