The Final Concert is a very exciting event for everyone involved. We encourage all friends and family to attend to support students' culmination of work.
Scholarships and Certificates
Students will receive a JCM Certificate of Completion for each year they are in the program. Several students will also receive awards and scholarships to various summer music festivals. Students who are not present will forfeit their scholarship and certificate.
Scholarships will be offered to the festivals listed below. Additional scholarships will be added throughout the season.
- Arrowbear Music Camp
- Capo Chamber Music
- Idyllwild Music Festival
- Interlochen Summer Festival
- Montecito International Music Festival
- Orfeo Summer Music Festival
- Warsaw Piano Institute
Every season, JCM Faculty comes together to perform for the students and community. This is a wonderful way to see your coaches perform and to meet and greet other coaches. Please introduce yourself to the coaches at the reception afterwards.
Additional JCM Performance Opportunities
Throughout the season, JCM students will receive newsletters and emails regarding additional opportunities to perform.
Orange Coast College Chamber Music Recital: Sign up to perform in the intimate new recital venue at OCC. This venue has nice acoutics and a brand new Steinway Concert Grand piano. Interested groups must send in a YouTube audition to qualify. Debut Artists are automatically accepted.
JCM-Student Service Alliance (JCM-SSA)
Sign up to perform in retirement homes. This is a wonderful way for students to perform for the community. Students need to announce their piece and something interesting about it for the audience and are encouraged to interact with residents after the concert. All groups will receive 5 hours of Community Service and many smiles from the appreciative residents. Available to all groups.
External Performance Opportunities
One of the advantages of joining a large chamber music organization like JCM is the network of teachers involved in the program. Throughout the year, diverse organizations contact JCM to recruit our groups. A sampling of the events our groups have played for are:
- Grand Opening of the American Doll Store (including Hollywood actors)
- NAACP Image Awards Luncheon in Hollywood
- Pasadena Montgomery Clyde Concert at Shumei Arts Center
- CSUF Master Classes, UCI Master Classes
- Rising Stars Concerts at Irvine Barclay Theatre
- Pacific Symphony Concert in the Parks
JCM students were also recently given the incredible opportunity to record the score to the film Kids vs. Monsters composed by Jeff Marsh.
