Dr. Susan Boettger
Linda Rose is a graduate of the Juilliard School where she was a scholarship student of Ivan Galamian and Dorothy Delay. Her earlier studies were with Manuel Compinsky. She also studied with Pierre Amoyal, Eliot Chapo,Robert Sanov and Erno Neufeld.
Miss Rose has played in the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pasadena Symphony, California Chamber Orchestra and the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra.She was Concertmaster and soloist with the Long Beach Bach Festival for eleven years and recorded with them on Alpine Records. Linda Rose is known for her work with talented young violinists.Her students have gone on to the Juilliard, Curtis, New England, Manhattan and Cleveland Conservatories and Indiana, Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, Yale and Oberlin Universities among others. They have won 1st Place at the Bronislaw Kaper Competition of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Music Center spotlight Award, the Young Musicians Foundation National Concerto Competition and in 2014 and 2016 Grand Prize at the American String Teachers Los Angeles Area finals Competiton which comes with a solo performance with the Olympia Symphony. She is listed in “Prone to Violins”as on of Ivan Galamian’s important students. She was on the violin faculty at California State University Long Beach for 17 years and has performed and taught at festivals in Canada, Russia,Italy,New York, Oregon and California.
