A Timeline…
The Junior Chamber Music program began when Dr. M’lou Dietzer of the Music Teacher’s Association Branch of Irvine approached Dr. Susan Boettger. JCM developed from this venture.
2010 - April - JCM’s inaugural tour to New York tour was a life-changing experience for many young musicians. Students performed at Carnegie Weill Recital to a full house and were able to visit the Juilliard School. Read our New York Concert Review here.
Dr. Chenny Gan invites JCM to do an International Honors Tour to Salzburg. Since then, JCM has gone to many countries including Hungary, Finland, Germany, Estonia, Russia, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
JCM celebrates a 10 Year Anniversary with a collaboration with USC for a new JCM Chamber Competition which culminates in students performing on K-USC at the LACMA concert hall.
JCM collaborates with the Idyllwild Arts Academy for an annual Music Retreat.
Debut Artists work with Anderson & Roe to discuss how to create music videos.
Music in the Mountains Tour in February a huge success. However, all final concerts and the Honors Tour to Korea canceled by the COVID-19. In the Fall, JCM moves to online auditions / orientation to keep the chamber music strong!
Los Angeles Coast branch founded. Los Angeles Coast branch is founded by Dr. Jackie Petitto.
Santa Barbara Branch Founded by Chenoa Orme-Stone. New branding and Web site launched.
