Dr. Ena Kim
Dr. Ena Kim enjoys growing as an artist with a unique and profound voice. Her compelling craft has won numerous national and international accolades, including 1st Prize in the Bradshaw and Buono International Competition and 1st Prize in the Asia Chopin International Piano Competition, among others. As a concert pianist and a chamber musician, her professional mission has brought her to be exciting and eclectic venues. She also has been frequently invited to perform widely in the United States, South Korea, China, and Japan at significant festivals, including the William Kapell International Piano Festival and Arts of Piano in CCM.
Alongside her performance resume, Dr. Kim crucially devotes her energy and passion for teaching. She maintains her schedule of masterclasses, lectures, adjudications, and festival appearances. The invitations include the University of Maryland, St. Mary's College, and as a jurist for the Southwestern Youth Music Festival at California State University Long Beach. Also, as an extensive community educator, she presented as a lecturer-pianist in the Emeritus program for the adult at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and Chevy Chase Association in Washington, D.C, Virginia. Recently, she is selected as a recipient of the Steinway Top Teacher Award from Steinway, New York, NY.
Dr.Kim holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from the University of Maryland, a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Music degree, Magna Cum Laude in piano from the Ewha Women University.
As an educator and a scholar, she currently teaches at Norco College and serves as a chair of the community outreach concert program at MTAC(Music Teachers’ Association of California) Irvine.
