Dohnanyi Trio
D’aci Knight is currently principal violist of the Colburn Youth Symphony and is in two quartets through the Ed and Mari Edelman Chamber Institute and a trio through Junior Chamber Music. She has performed with ensembles across Europe, at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, Zipper Hall, and Bing Theater at LACMA. She is also a musician for the Los Angeles branch of Music for Food, raising money to benefit the local food bank. D’aci attended Bowdoin International Music Festival where she studied with Jeffrey Irvine and has performed in masterclasses with the Jupiter Quartet, Geraldine Walther, and Andrew Bulbrook of the Calder Quartet. She studies with Helen Callus.
Jennifer No is a 17 year old junior from West Ranch High School. She began playing the flute in 2009 at the age of 9 with Mi Kyong Lee. After being able to take part in musical activities from her elementary school, she began to participate in musical competitions outside of school. Some individual awards that she has won include:, Santa Clarita Philharmonic Concerto Competition 1st Place in 2015, the Junior Chamber Music Young Artist Concerto Competition 1st Place in 2016 , California Association of Professional Music Teachers Regionals(CAPMT) 1st place competition in 2016, CAPMT State Competition 2nd Place in 2016, and MTNA State Competition Alternate. She has also been part of the CSUN Youth Philharmonic since 2015 and Junior Chamber Music since 2013. With her chamber groups, Jennifer has competed in multiple competitions and has won VOCE Ensemble Regionals 1st Place in 2015, VOCE Ensemble State 3rd place in 2015, and MTAC Chamber Music Competition State Finalist in 2014. She has also been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend prestigious summer music festivals like the Montecito International Music Festival in 2014 with a partial scholarship and the Idyllwild Chamber Festival in 2016 with a full scholarship where she was able to perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall. In the future, Jennifer plans to perform with the CSUN Youth Orchestra as a soloist. When not playing music, Jennifer takes part in teaching young physically impaired children how to play the flute and also plays tennis with her friends on her tennis team.
Andrew Lee is currently a sophomore at Crescenta Valley High School. He began his study of the cello in the third grade, and currently studies with John Walz. Several groups that he is involved with are the GYO (Glendale Youth Orchestra), JCM, and his school’s symphony orchestra. Andrew has also participated in several local competitions and honor groups, one of which being the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA). He also occasionally performs at weddings and for his church. As he moves forward in his musical journey, he hopes to continually pursue the cello.
