Boa Park

Born and raised in South Korea, violinist Boa Park has performed as a soloist and a chamber musician in South Korea, China, Austria and the United States where she was granted the National Interest Visa Waiver.

As an accomplished performer, Dr. Park has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including Karos Percussion Ensemble, Vladivostok Symphony Orchestra, Ewha Womans University String Orchestra, KAIST Orchestra, Starling Chamber Orchestra, and College Conservatory of Music (University of Cincinnati) Orchestra. She gave solo recitals at many different music halls including Seoul Arts Center and performed in numerous concerts as a guest Concertmaster.

 She was a prizewinner of the Concerto Competition at Ewha Womans University as well as the University of Cincinnati, and was awarded both the Starling Scholarship and the University Graduate Scholarship for her doctorate studies. Dr. Park also received a second major for her Doctorate in Orchestra Conducting.

 Passionate about teaching, Dr. Park has been an adjunct professor at Dae-Jin University Conservatory and also taught at Sun-Hwa Art School and Sun-Hwa Art High School in South Korea. In the United States, she actively maintains a private studio while teaching at Concordia University’s Summer Chamber Music Festival and JCM (Junior Chamber Music). Since 2022, she is serving OC Philharmonic Orchestra as concertmaster.

 She holds a Bachelor of Music from Ewha Womans University and a Masters and Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati where she studied with Prof. Kurt Sassmannshaus.
