Amanda Yang

Violinist, violist and pianist Dr. Amanda Yang has appeared as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician in major venues throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, Austria, Japan, and Taiwan. She has performed under the baton of Maestro Sergiu Comissiona, Carl St. Clair, James Conlon, and Michael Tilson Thomas. Dr. Yang has shared the stage with renowned artists including Cho-Liang Lin, Midori Goto, Yo-Yo Ma, and Itzhak Perlman.

A graduate of USC Thornton school of music and Eastman School of Music, Dr. Yang received Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin performance and Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Alice Schoenfeld and Rebecca Penneys.

Formerly on the faculty of the Thornton School of Music and Biola University, Dr. Yang enjoys her teachings and is known for her dedicated work with young musicians. Among her students, many have won awards in Music Teachers’ Association California VOCE competition, ASTA Bowed String Competition, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, Satori Summer Music Festival, American Protégé International Competition and others.
