Aimee Kreston
Violinist Aimee Kreston is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music where she studied with Jascha Brodsky, Yumi Ninomiya, and Felix Galamir. She continued her studies with the legendary concertmaster Michel Schwalbe. She has served as Concertmaster of L’Orchestre de Paris, the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra, and the Pasadena Symphony. Ms. Kreston has performed in nearly every European country, having appeared as soloist at Amsterdam's Concertgebow and as chamber musician at the Chatelet Chamber music series in Paris, the Reims music festival, and at the Queluz Chateau festival in Portugal.
Ms. Kreston was a prizewinner of the Tibor Varga International violin competition in Sion, Switzerland in 1989 and at the WAMSO Young artist’s competition in Minneapolis in 1988. Ms. Kreston has performed at chamber music festivals around the world, appearing regularly at the Chamber Music Unbound series in Mammoth Lakes, California; the Malibu Friends of Music; the Green Lake Music Festival in Wisconsin; the Port Townsend Chamber Music Festival; as well as the Soirees Musicales series at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. She has been heard as a guest artist with faculty chamber groups at USC, and has been featured on the Sundays Live chamber music broadcasts from the LOS ANGELES Art Museum on KUSC.ton School of Music, among others.
She is married to Pasadena Symphony principal violist Andrew Picken.
