Arioso Trio: Madeleine Fruman, violin; Anna Fruman, cello; Natalie Yee, piano

 

Madeleine Fruman is a junior at University High School who has been playing the violin for 10 years. She has been a member of SCSBOA All-Southern California Honors Orchestra, California All-State Honors Orchestra, and the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra. She has been in JCM for four years, and participated in the 2016 JCM Honors Tour. She attended the Idyllwild Chamber Intensive Summer Program. In her free time, she enjoys baking, spending time with friends, and writing articles for the school newspaper.

 

Anna Fruman, 15, has been studying cello for ten years. She has won first place in the JCM/CAPMT Young Musicians Concerto Competition and has placed in various competitions, including the ASTA Solo Competition Los Angeles Finals and the Los Angeles Violoncello Society Scholarship Auditions. Anna has performed with the Orchestra Collective of Orange County and has participated in chamber music and solo masterclasses with distinguished artists such as Lynn Harrell, Awadagin Pratt, Anderson & Roe, and faculty members of the Juilliard School and New England Conservatory. As an orchestral musician, Anna has been a member of the Pacific Symphony Youth Ensembles and the Orange County School of the Arts Symphony Orchestra, with whom she performed in concert halls in Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague. Anna has been a JCM Honors Group member for four years and has been selected twice to attend the JCM Honors Tour. She currently studies with Professor Joon Sung Jun.

Natalie Yee, 16 years old, is currently a Junior at St. Margaret's Episcopal School. This is the third year that she has been a part of the Honors group with JCM. Natalie is honored to have performed at Carnegie Hall, twice appearing as a winner in the American Protege Romantic Competition, and in 2016 as part of the Junior Chamber Music Honors group tour. In 2011 and 2013, Natalie won 1st place in the finals of the California-Nevada District Search for Talent program organized by the District Exchange Clubs. Natalie is also a repeat winner of the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, most recently winning 1st in the Open Etude category. She is also a repeat Branch and Regional winner and placed 3rd in the Complete Works Audition at the Southern California Junior Bach Festival in 2017. She had the privilege of participating in master classes by Anderson and Roe, and faculty members of New England Conservatory and Juilliard School. Besides competing, she is the Branch Coordinator of the Junior Chamber Music Student Service Alliance and enjoys putting together concerts for the senior citizens in Orange County. She is currently studying with Dr. Valentina Gottlieb.
