Darryl Tanikawa

Clarinetist Darryl Tanikawa is an active professional musician, producer, music director, executive director, orchestra contractor, and performs with numerous symphony and chamber music ensembles throughout Southern California. Principal clarinetist of the Asia America Symphony Orchestra, Armenian Pops Orchestra, Westminster Chamber Orchestra, Bel-Air Chamber Orchestra, Torrance Civic Chorale Orchestra, Cabrillo Music Theatre Orchestra, Glendale Symphony Orchestra, and for such artists as David Benoit, Katherine McPhee, Dave Koz, Steve Allen, John Tesh, and The 3 Tenors. He is a co-founding member of the Pacifica Woodwind Quintet and Pacific Winds Trio and has been heard on NPR’s Performance Today, Alfred Publishing’s Music Theory: Ear Training & Sound Innovation CDs/DVDs along with numerous classical, contemporary, pop CD recordings. He was a full scholarship student at California State University, Northridge where he earned his BM degree in clarinet performance; and he was a student of ABT Principal & studio clarinetist Roy D’Antonio and was a member of the LA Phil Orchestra Training Program and a student of LA Phil principal clarinetist, Lorin Levee.
