Valentina Gottlieb

Dr. Andrea Garreffa was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and raised in a musical family. She graduated at the Buenos Aires National Conservatory with the “Highest Academic Achievement” and was awarded a scholarship to study in Germany. She received her Master in Musical Arts at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she studied with Estela Olevsky and her Doctor in Musical Arts at the University of Arizona, Tucson where she studied with Dr. Paula. She performed as a soloist with orchestras in Germany, Argentina and Uruguay. As a soloist and chamber musician she performed throughout Europe, South America and the United States. She has been a winner of many piano competitions, including First Prize Winner at the Mozarteum Piano Competition in Santa Fe, Argentina. Dr. Garreffa has participated many master classes and festivals with renown musicians including Maria Szraiber, Lee Luvisi, Fernande Kaeser, Garry Muller, Paul Trein, Silvia Kersenbaum and Poldi Mildner. As a passionate chamber musician, she has received coaching from James Buswell, Victor Rosenbaum, Matt Haimovitz, Jane Hawkins, Masuko Ushiolda, Charles Treger and Mark Russell Smith. Dr. Garreffa is an active member of the CAPMT (California Association of Professional Music teachers) currently serving as a co-chair for the Piano Auditions. She has an established piano studio located in Dove Canyon, CA.
